   As part of our commitment to expanding our global business to become a world-class health company, Maeil signed an agreement with Beingmate, a Chinese baby food maker, for joint R&D on special powdered milk and entry into the Chinese special powdered milk market.

   

   Held the Maeil Asia Human Milk Research Center International Symposium.

   Maeil hosted the Maeil Asia Human Milk Research Center International Symposium to celebrate the opening of the human milk center for Asian moms with over 100 researchers in human milk attending from Asian countries including Korea, China and Japan. The center aims to design powdered milk that’s right for Asian babies. Under the motto that Asian babies need powdered milk that meets a standard for Asian mom's breast milk, the symposium signaled the beginning of the Maeil Asia Human Milk Research Center that would study the breast milk of moms not only in Korea, but also other Asian countries. The center's blueprint is to study breast milk of Asian moms through close collaboration with academic and healthcare experts from Asia based on research data on breast milk of Korean moms the center has built over the last 5 years as part of its strategic goal of becoming a global human milk research center.

   Released an upgrade of Absolute Myungjak and Absolute Goong. A baby food that was designed based on the findings of research at the human milk research center.
   - Absolute Goong: An organic powdered milk made from organic raw milk produced at the Sangha Farm.

   Established the Maeil Asia Human Milk Research Center.

   The Maeil Asia Human Milk Research Center was established in 2011 in the belief that to study breast milk is to study baby health and it has since analyzed breast milk, provided a consultation service about baby poop and conducted joint research with university hospitals. The Absolute Baby Poop solution, the nation's first baby poop consultation service, is a baby poop consultation service designed by pediatric experts at the human milk research center. Maeil helps moms to check the health of their baby through the poop consultation service and also shares the results of analysis of baby’s poop alongside recommended powdered milk products that are good for the intestines.

   Released Absolute Sensitive.

   Absolute Sensitive uses less antigenic hydrolyzed milk protein, which makes absorption easy, and also enables easy carbohydrate ingestion by adjusting lactose, which can otherwise make sensitive babies feel bloated. Absolute Sensitive contains more beta-palmitic acid, which improves the absorption of fat and calcium, and also improves the probiotic environment in the intestines through the triple prebiotic system, which consists of galactooligosaccharide, fructooligosaccharide and raffinose.

   Developed special powdered milk for babies with inborn metabolism errors.The first in Korea to release 8 types of special powdered milk with reinforced vitamin and mineral with certain amino acids removed for babies suffering from inborn metabolism errors.

   The first baby food to adopt a safety cap and an "easy tape open" method.Uses a hygienic can produced at a state-of-the-art automated plant.

   Exported modified milk powder to the Middle East. Signed an export contract with Saudi Arabia, laying the foothold for its entry into the Middle East market.
