Absolute Special Powdered Milk

The best food for any baby in the world is breast milk, but there are some babies who can't eat powdered milk let alone breast milk: babies with inborn metabolism errors.

One out of every 50,000 newborns born can't eat the proteins contained in meat, fish and rice as they congenitally lack the enzymes required to degrade amino acids. Without proper dietary control, they will suffer from motor developmental impairment, growth impairment and brain cell damage due to the accumulation of non-degraded amino acids and metabolites.

For babies with inborn errors of amino acid metabolism, Maeil Dairies used our own technologies to develop in 1999 ten special powdered milks across eight product types that all remove specific amino acids and contain nutritional ingredients such as vitamins and minerals.
